The Crappie Masters National Tournament Trail is at Lake D’Arbonne this weekend for the second National Qualifier event of the season.
All three Ozark Outdoors anglers–Hayden Jeffries, Lamar Bunting, and Nick DeWolf–will be attending and competing for the title down in Farmerville, Louisiana on Friday and Saturday.
These three have competed against each other in a crappie tournament earlier this year, as the first stop on the Crappie Masters Elite Series trail saw Ozark anglers Hayden Jeffries and Lamar Bunting finish 1st and 2nd while Nick DeWolf had some boat trouble and wasn’t able to weigh in any fish that weekend.
It was a similar story at last year’s Crappie Masters National Qualifier at Lake D’Arbonne, as Jeffries topped Bunting with a weight of 29.07 pounds over the two-day tournament, while Lamar weighed in 28.12 pounds of fish.
The Ozark angler team aren’t strangers to good finishes in crappie tournaments this year. Hayden Jeffries and his father, Dan, have won both American Crappie Trail events in 2023 (here at Lake D’Arbonne as well as at Grenada Lake) while Lamar Bunting came home 3rd in the D’Arbonne ACT event. The third Ozark angler, Nick DeWolf, finished 9th in that event, for a full Ozark top 10 sweep of the weekend.
All eyes are on Hayden Jeffries this weekend at Lake D’Arbonne due to his run of domination lately, but don’t look past the other two Ozark anglers, as Lamar Bunting and Nick DeWolf will be putting up a tough fight along with the rest of the Crappie Masters tournament field of anglers.
Good luck to all Ozark teams at the Lake D’Arbonne event this weekend. Coverage of the tournament and the weigh-ins will be live-streamed on the Crappie Masters Facebook page.
P.S. Don’t forget that 10% of all Ozark Rods sales in February will be going to benefit Chance “The Napper,” who is battling leukemia, as well as the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Click the image below to shop now!
